About The Event
Ukwakhwa is a Indigenous-led nonprofit organization in De Pere growing traditional, heirloom foods with an emphasis on Haudenosaunee varieties of corn, beans, and squash. We will be enjoying a Kanastohale making workshop, a farmstead tour, and lunch with fellow members to cultivate community.
For lunch, we will be sharing turkey corn soup, three sisters corn soup, berry salad, strawberry drink, and our freshly made Kanastohale.
Ukwakhwa has a Trading Post. Please consider bringing intentional items to share such as:
Shelf-stable homemade foods such as maple syrup, wild rice, jelly, and dried goods
Handmade plant-based items such as salves, teas, and soaps
Frozen wild game (clean, well-packaged, and labeled)
