Online Week of Events

Coal costs us so much. There are six coal plants in Wisconsin that our utilities have no plans to retire and transition to clean energy. That is not acceptable. We know that our health, our economy, and our climate & environment are all negatively impacted by the coal plants in our state.

About The Event

  • Monday - Learn: Join us for an online screening of the documentary WE Neighbors, the story of Wisconsinites living next to the Oak Creek/Elm Road coal plants, which are majority-owned by We Energies. After the documentary, pulmonologist Dr. Linus Santo Tomas will give an informative presentation on the health impacts of burning coal. Lastly, we will host a panel discussion featuring healthcare professionals, neighbors to the coal plant, community leaders, and clean energy advocates.
  • Tuesday - Share: Watch personal stories about coal’s impact on Facebook Live and share a story of your own.
  • Wednesday - Speak up: Testify or submit written comments that will lay the groundwork for our clean energy future.
  • Thursday - Call: Call your utility and tell them it’s time for a coal-free future.
  • Friday - Create: Spread the word about the need for clean energy with art, chalked messages, posters, yard signs, and more!
