Jay Holzschuh

Communications Coordinator

Julia (Jay) Holzschuh is a public relations professional and environmental justice advocate who joined Healthy Climate Wisconsin as the Communications Coordinator. Julia brings a background in renewable energy advocacy and a deep passion for community justice.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a minor in Political Science. While in school, she discovered her passion for storytelling through visual mediums and knew quickly that she wanted to work somewhere she could advocate for her community and see a tangible impact from her work.

Julia comes to Healthy Climate Wisconsin with a background in nonprofit communications and marketing. She grew up in rural Wisconsin and has always been exploring Wisconsin’s outdoor offerings. Her sister has been an environmental advocate and educator as long as she can remember, bringing Julia with her to volunteer at the Thousand Islands Nature Preserve near their home, or frequently looking for animal and bird tracks in the woods behind their house. Because of this, she has always wanted to help protect and advance Wisconsin’s climate goals while still preserving the great outdoors that Wisconsin has to offer. She is committed to advancing and maintaining the rights of every Wisconsinite to enjoy a clean environment, focusing on supporting communities often put on the frontlines of this change.

In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her three cats. She enjoys playing video games, photography, finding new creative hobbies and picking out her next place to travel!
